In The Dark S1 E4
Cathy had just finished praying and decided to head early to work by 6pm. She worked as a cleaner at the general hospital and was currently on nightshift. She had recently given her life to Christ and was glad of the life she had left behind. She was once a regional representative of the Devil in Washington DC and she was so deep in and she was lucky to have escaped with her life intact. She got to the hospital and entered into the dressing room to change into her work cloths. When she was out, she picked up her mop and bucket and began searching for dirt on the floor to clean. She found a spot right in front of the patient relative waiting room and began cleaning. She got carried away with the floor she was cleaning and the worship song she quietly sang. Taking a few steps backwards, she tripped over someone and fell. She apologized while the stranger gently offered her his right hand as a possible sign of apology accepted. As her left hand touched his, he felt a burn but endured it as he gently helped her up.
“Thank you. Please forgive me for being so clumsy,” Cathy said
“You're welcome...” the stranger drew his sentence waiting for Cathy to complete it.
“Cathy!”
“Nice to meet you Cathy. You can call me Henry.”
“Good to meet you too Henry.”
“Clearly, your soul was also put to the task of cleaning the floor else you would have noticed me.”
Cathy laughed and said, “I guess so.”
“Would you be free for coffee sometime Cathy?”
“Sure.”
“Here is my card. Do try to call me.”
“I will.”
“Bye.”
Cathy waved him goodbye and continued with what she was doing.
Henry walked into his car and started it. He's meeting Cathy had totally changed the evening's mission he was sent to accomplish. After all, this would be more thrilling than what he was sent to achieve. He had met people like Cathy over the past century and wasn't surprised anyway. They naturally had a good heart but once you move with an intention of evil towards them, you had to face the dark world's greatest threat... Angels. On his way to Walkerville, he left a quick voice note for his dad and concentrated on the stirring.
His car pulled over in front of the mansion. He got out of the car, and headed towards the mansion. Henry felt a presence behind him that was coming closer. He turned to get a view of the person, but was flung towards the flowers decorating the side walk. He was about to collide into the flower when his elder sister caught him in mid-air and placed him on his feet. Mary smiled and, “Welcome brother.”
Henry smiled and hugged Mary saying, “Welcome back, sister.”
“Ha, Mary did you see his face when I flung him?” Andre laughed and hugged his brother saying, “Nice to see you again Henry.”
“Wow, so glad to have you two back,” Henry said.
“Let's go in please. Dad had just called for an emergency meeting,” Mary said.
They entered into the mansion and they were greeted by Helen and Ruth, the last children born to the Walker's before their transformation and they were twin. Ruth talked a lot but Helen barely spoke which made them believe she was dumb at a certain point.
“Girls, how are you?” Henry asked
As expected, Ruth replied, “We're both good. Welcome back Mary and Andre. Dad and the others are waiting for you all in the great hall.” Henry knelt and hugged both of them. As he released them from his hug, they ran off to their room. Jude was sitting close to his father and his face was buried in whatever it was he examined. Abigail sat close to Han, directly opposite Jude on the table. Though Abigail noticed his presence and waved. Jude noticed Henry when Han welcomed Henry saying, “Welcome. Successful I hope?”
“Not entirely,” Henry replied.
Han welcomed everyone and motioned for all to have their seats. Clan chiefs and other high representatives in government were present.
“You're all welcome and thanks for accepting my invitation on short notice. Many of you have been busy with your different tasks and I wouldn't have called for this emergency meeting if it didn't require our immediate attention. A regional representative of Satan has defected to the Christians.”
“That isn't a matter of urgency at all. We've made many of them with the help of demons come back to us,” said the Roo Clan chief, Andrew.
“I am concerned because this people have a power most of them are ignorant of. Let's walk down memory lane.” Han closed his eyes and everyone in the room was taken back in time to the year 452. They watched as a recruit of theirs, notorious warrior Attila the Hun and his massive army moved to invade Rome. They saw as Pope Leo I met with Attila pleading with him to stop threatening Rome. Many people were surprised that in response, Attila immediately withdrew his army from Rome. They saw Attila leave the city because he originally saw two imposing angels wielding flaming swords standing besides Pope Leo I while he was speaking. The Angels threatened to kill Attila if he proceeded to invade Rome.” Han opened his eyes, and they were back to the present.
